DOES FUNDRAW.COM BUY CLIPART?
Yes. As you can see by our collection of exclusive clipart, we do buy clipart.
WHO DO I TALK TO ABOUT SELLING YOU CLIPART?
First we do not buy one image at a time. We generally buy them in batches of 20-50 images. All images must be in a vector format. We do not buy bitmap clipart.
Second, if you want to sell us a collection you got off a web site where they promised you "full resale rights"... we've run into scam-artists who steal a lot of art and then sell it with that promise. If you try to sell us a collection like that, we reserve the right to beat you with a blunt object.
Generally, we create lists of descriptions of drawings we would like to have and then commission independent artists to create original drawings from the list on a work-for-hire basis. We tend to use RentACoder or eLance as intermediaries to ensure our contracts are fulfilled, both by our artists and by us.
We have a selection of hand-picked artists we have worked with before and tend to contact first when lists become available for commission. But if you believe you have the chops to draw for us, can turn around a list of 50 drawings in 2-3 weeks, and are willing to work for a per-drawing rate of around $7-$8 per drawing, please contact our art manager at burgerguy at gmail.com with samples of your work. If he likes your work and we're in an acquisition phase, he will contact you.
If you represent a large vendor of rights-managed art, please note that we offer our users a pretty broad license for usage and reserve even broader rights for ourselves. We've found that such broad rights do not tend to be agreeable to rights-managed vendors or require such expensive per-piece licensing rates that they're not agreeable to us.
In general, our per-artwork ROI is such that we're going to lowball you to the point where you laugh and ask if we're serious. When we do not laugh back and tell you we're extremely serious, you'll suddenly get a phone call you "have to take" and we'll never hear from you again.
We're happy to hear your pitch, but look a few paragraphs above and see what we pay for exclusive, original drawings. If you can't compete with that, you'll be wasting your time and ours with a sales call.
